The Integrated Molecular Entomology Core brings K-State and USDA researchers together with access to advanced equipment and arthropod containment.

Opening up specimen cabinets in the Insect Museum

Nearly as old as Kansas State University itself, it was started in 1879 by E. A. Popenoe, the first full-time entomologist employed at then Kansas State College. The collection is estimated to contain approximately 300,000 specimens.

USDA CGHAR

The Center for Grain and Animal Health Research incorporates numerous insect and arthropod-based projects to secure our food supplies. Many students work here in partnership with our department.
