Research Associate - Kansas State University

    12-month, full-time (40 hours/week), term, non-tenure track position.

    The primary responsibilities of the research associate include the following: conduct research projects associated with horticultural insect and mite pests under laboratory, greenhouse, and field conditions; prepare progress reports; maintain insect rearing colonies in the laboratory and greenhouse; design and execute small and large scale laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments; collect data based on different sampling methods; engage in student supervision; and analyze and summarize data associated with research projects.

   12-month, full-time (40 hours/week), term, non-tenure track position.

    Primary responsibilities include DNA and RNA library preparation, animal rearing and experimental design, and bioinformatics and statistical analysis to support research on the genomic variation associated with rapid life history evolution in insects. The successful candidate will work independently, effectively manage graduate and undergraduate students, perform field collections when necessary, coordinate with collaborators at domestic and foreign institutions, and communicate results at international conferences.

    Responsibilities will include: 1.) planning and conducting laboratory, greenhouse, or field experiments involving interactions between Kansas crop plants and arthropod pests; 2.) maintaining experimental data to write and publish manuscripts in refereed journals; and 3.) preparing applications for extramural funding.
