The Integrated Molecular Entomology Core Laboratory Student Travel Award
The Integrated Molecular Entomology Core (IMEC) laboratory was established to promote the use of molecular and cellular techniques to explore the physiology, biology, toxicology, and behavior of arthropods. IMEC provides state-of-the-art equipment for users, promoting collaboration among members of the department of Entomology, University partners, and external collaborators. To enhance this mission, IMEC is offering up to four travel awards to support student presentations and networking at scientific conferences. Applications will be evaluated by relevance of the research to IMEC’s mission, the need of the student, and the benefit to the student’s career. Priority will be given to students actively using our facilities, though use of IMEC is not required for the award.
Application requirements:
- A cover letter (1-2 pages) describing how the student will use the funds for travel, the research to be presented, how IMEC may have contributed to the research (if applicable), and how this travel will benefit the student’s career.
- A letter of support from the student’s advisor
Winners will be determined by the Awards committee. Winners will be expected to credit IMEC with providing funding for travel in their presentation.
